4 March, 2019 – Arlie Beach, Whitsunday Islands

A hopping off point near the Great Barrier Reef, the town of Arlie Beach is nestled in a bay. The morning weather starts off with a beautiful rainbow created shining directly in the town.

Just after taking this picture, I learn that my niece has given birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl!๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ž. A pix of my sister with Baby Alyssa

Our ship is docked offshore with a 25 minute ride by tender to shore. Unfortunately the weather takes a turn and the sea becomes slightly rough so the tender/ferry drivers are having trouble docking next to the ship. Steve has decided to stay behind for this port so I pickup my tender ticket and start the wait. An hour and a half later I am one of the first to be sitting on the ferry. This is starting off to be an adventure!Once off the ferry, onto a bus for a short ride to the Main Street area. There are a lot of tour offices with many options and young people wandering around making choices or having some food and beverage- just like the Queen Victoria passengers. Doctors dentists pharmacy – everything if you end up here adventuring. For me a wander around town and see what it has to offer.

A local craft fair – think same as U.S.

A lagoon was developed because the beaches here aren’t very nice 6 months of the year because of Box Jellyfish waiting to sting anyone who enters.

And I discovered where the Manatee Snooty was immortalized

Mail a couple of postcards and then back to the ship. For those of you wondering about beers – a tapper picture at Magnums bar.

Three days at Sea until next Port – Darwin.

Thanks to all following along!
